JOIN ME

Perhaps you too are happy but just don’t know it?

It’s my belief that happiness and happy / unhappy are entirely unrelated – happiness is a permanent state in us all, if we allow it to be.

So why not join me – and commit to staying entirely happy for a day / week / year.

When something irks you  just tell yourself: “I’m happy and I know it.” I sometimes sing (usually my Johnny Cash medley), to get me back into a happy state. Although, of course, this may well have the opposite effect on others.

    Great idea!

its exactly the way I have been living my life. I am grateful for what I have in life, the experiences I had, for the people I meet, for the pains I feel, for my history, my family and friends, because ultimately all those things make me the person I am, and I am one happy camper :)

However there is one observation that I have been making over and over again: some people call me their happiness guru, but there are other people who find it very difficult to deal with an utterly happy person. I don’t know what it is to them, but they find it hard to believe, it scares them, it makes them unhappy not being that happy (jealous?). For me its easy, its who I am, and sometimes when things get hard its a decision I make: be happy

    Cheers
    Boris

Thanks for the invite.. I’m in and already feel happier by saying pledging to do this..suddenly the fact that I am not sure how to get to London without any money seems like a small probelm..all kinds of possibilities open up.. there are so many ways of getting to London and I starting seeing them as soon as I decided to focus on being happy.
    Thanks for the inspiration

This is awesome! There are so many things to be happy aobut- all we need to do is see the news each day to realize how much we have – a home, clean water, etc. It takes a an effort to keep thinking of the positive things. If we live in the moment we can appreciate the small things that can make us happy. Actually, we have the responsibility for our own happiness. I’m in!

Well, why not? Bringing happiness into full awareness and giving it the credibility I have given to acknowledging various other states of being should be an amazing experience. I’m in!

hey :) love your project and the posts…truly inspiring and growing on me…maybe I am not that brave enough to sign up for a year straight away, but I think I will start with one hour, one day, one week…and who knows maybe it will take me to one life time ;)

good luck to all, hugs from always sunny Abu Dhabi

This is going to sound really cheesy but when you mentioned your Johnny Cash song it reminded me of some of the songs I use to snap myself into reality/happiness. I guess everyone has a few that work. Mine used to be the theme song from “Legally Blonde” – you know the one that goes, “It’s a perfect daaaay, nothing standing in my way!” And at times that is still appropriate. Other days I just dance to “Dancing Queen” by Abba and it makes me smile. Now that I’ve got kids, I just picture my beautiful 3.5 year old independent as ever daughter singing, “I’m a Little Teapot” and nothing can phase me. Being happy is definitely possible, it only requires that you be AWARE and ALERT and ALLOW happiness into your heart while having GRATITUDE for everything and everyone that enters your life. Ah, such a simple recipe! I love your project, keep spreading the word about it!

OK, I’ll give it a try. I do believe in positive psychology, and maybe it begins with committing to being happy every day.
